The Apollo Area Historical Society held its monthly meeting on December 8, 2022 at the wonderful Jackson Mansion on Terrace Avenue. We were invited to hold our meeting there by Rob Jackson, the owner. Rob is a descendent of General Samuel Jackson who had the house built in 1883. You can learn more about the house by clicking here.
After our meeting, we were given a tour of the mansion by Bill Kerr. He took the photos in this article. We ended the enjoyable evening with cookies and cider. What a treasure we have right here in Apollo!

Very cool! I have SO MANY pictures of the inside and outside of the house from 1930’s to 1970’s . . . I will post some for everyone. My grandmother Virginia Ludwig, was raised there with her 7 sisters. She is from the Samual Ludwig family. My Great Grandmother, Lillie Ludwig, lived there until she was very old and unfortunately the house fell into disrepair since she was getting so old. Most of the sisters moved to Arizona so sold the house upon her death. Very cool that it stayed in the Jackson family. I have some old Jackson calling cards with the original General Jackson signature that were found in the house and that I inherited. 🙂

Wonderful to see the condition of the house and wonderful you have a functioning group.
My Father was born on Terrace in 1911. The family does not know what house. Is there a data base that might show the Haupt Family back then? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
